TRAINING
IN HERBAL MEDICINE (and the National Institute of Medical Herbalists)
Training
is rigorous and lasts four years. It includes:

orthodox medical sciences
-
diagnostic skills
-
pharmacy
-
materia medica
-
dietetics
There
is also a minimum of 500 hours of supervised clinical training, usually
in Training Clinics.
Success
in the many examinations qualifies one for election to Membership
of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists, which is the oldest
body of Medical Herbalists (phytotherapists) in Europe.
All
Members of the Institute are governed by a comprehensive Code of Ethics
and Disciplinary Procedures, and Members are covered by full Professional
Insurance.
